Early Intervention

Don't Delay. Get Help Now!

If your child is experiencing problems that interfere with his or her ability to function at home or school, it is important to seek professional help. The one thing that most professionals will agree upon is the importance of early intervention. The earlier a problem is identified and treated the better the chances are of making improvements and lessening the impact of developmental delays. Intensive, well-designed, and timely interventions can improve the quality of life and future prospect of many children who are considered to be at risk for cognitive, social, or emotional impairment. Even children with autism spectrum disorders can make measurable progress with early effective intervention. If you have any reason to suspect your child can benefit from the services of a trained professional, please do not hesitate. A psychologist can assist you in evaluating and understanding the nature of the problem and recommend potential treatment options.

Because early intervention is so important, federal law requires that school districts provide early identification and intervention services. You may want to contact the special education department of your local school district to learn more about these services. Parents may also want to consult a physician for a referral or to be directed to available resources in the area. You may also contact us for a FREE initial phone consultation.
